Kindle Blogs

So having bought my dad a kindle for his birthday (or chipped in on it at least) I had a play with it and noticed that you can push your blog to kindle. Now, I know it is unlikely that anyone is going to sign up through the kindle interface for xtracold - especially as no-one really signs up online, but it is an interesting method of publishing.

So, if you have a kindle, search for xtracold in the store and you'll be able to keep up with the blog.

My opinion on the Kindle is that it is a pretty cool bit of kit. The electronic ink is a marvel to look at, almost easier on the eye than printed paper...especially if your eyes are as bad as mine. The idea of carrying around 8000++ books is kinda neat too. Of course, it is the latest in a long line of technology advances that removes some joys of ownership. Just as mp3's and digital photos have taken away some of the tangible pleasures of ownership, Kindle does just that. In future what will a library be....an empty minimalist room with a row of Kindles? The stale smell of electronic devices heating the air as supposed to damp and musty old books? Is that better? I'm not sure..
