Freenas 8 Released

It is true, the revamped and rearchitected Freenas 8 is available for download. Not supporting the "toy" functions of 0.7.x yet as they will be delivered by future plugins, but basic Network Attached Storage is all in there. They now require that it is ran from a USB stick or solid state memory card, there is no live-CD option or it would seem possibility to run in a drive of a virtual machine. No biggy I suppose and a consequence of the rework they undertook. For xtracold, I think i'll give it a try, no Transmission for Torrents is a shame but I can likely live without that until 8.1 is available, or perhaps find a better torrent engine as I find Transmission functional but clunky. Also, I still need to install the additional disk and run a RAID config, interesting to read whether that promotes a shift from UFS to ZFS - which I think would also allow direct read/writes to the drive by openSUSE? Need to look into that in more detail.
